Explain how and why producers of radio programmes target different audiences refer to radio1 live lounge to support your answer. There are a variety of reasons how and why producers of radio programmes target different audiences. In my response, I will elaborate on ideas on how this is represented in various radio media. Radio producers have to appeal to a wide audience, with diverse tastes and preferences. This is done by featuring specific stars with the target audience they want to appeal to. For example, BBC Live Lounge featured Harry Styles performing a Fleetwood Mac song- "The Chain", combining Harry Styles' mainstream Brit-pop, mainly young, female audience with the maturer, mainly male audience who like rock and country music. This is effective because this causes those combined audiences to connect, and the fanbase to diversify and increase. The  Live Lounge  is a segment on the British radio stations  BBC Radio 1  and  BBC Radio 1Xtra .  It exhibits well-known artists usually performing one song of their own and one by another artist, in an acoustic format. Explain one way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other. Refer to one example of contrasting media language in two music videos you have studied to support your answer. Music videos use a variation of media language to convey different emotions and storylines. Sk8er Boi and Teenage dirtbag use a variation of different post-production effects to relate to separate primary target audiences. The primary target audience of Teenage dirtbag is teenagers (15-25), Unisex and into Indie, grunge, pop, rock. However, Sk8er Boi is targeted towards teenagers(15,25),Unisex and into Indie grunge punk rock. Avril Lavigne's video uses a series of handheld high angle shots to appeal to people that make skate videos at home. However, Wheatus' video appeals to their target audience because the storyline relates to every teenager that has every had a crush on an attractive popular person that seems unattainable.
