Tips for sports story
Tips for writing a sports story
-Know your audience (know who's reading; age, class, gender)
-Do you research (know facts, will make you more confident when writing)
-Make it interesting (you want to keep your reader reading, if you yourself find it boring then other will also find it boring)
-Validation (who can back up what the story is about, people opinions: witnesses, police)
-How are you pitching it? (how you tell the story in an interesting way)
-Where you can add your spin (add a local angle, relate it to your audience)
-A tight and interesting intro (best way to capture your audience is with the first line: no longer than 20-25 words, you want to include all of the story but summarised)
