Postmodernism
Postmodernism- a late 20th-century style and concept in the arts, architecture, and criticism, which represents a departure from modernism and is characterised by the self-conscious use of earlier styles and conventions, a mixing of different artistic styles and media, and a general distrust of theories.
Postmodernism-
Challenges genre conventions: might be a mixture of many genres; challenges typical character roles etc.
Pastiche: imitates other texts, humorous take on society/culture.
Hyper-reality: makes the audience aware that they are watching a movie.
We are now living in a post-post modernist world where we are creating our own matrix and spend more time online than we do in life.
